ScaleHaze ("we", "us") sets out below how user information is handled in the applications we provide and on this website (together, the "Service").
1. Operator
Name: ScaleHaze (sole proprietor)
Address: Konotora Bldg. 7F, 1-1-14 Shimomeguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 153-0064, Japan
Contact: contact@scalehaze.com
The proprietor's name will be provided without delay upon request.
2. Information We Collect and Why
- App play data: Game progress (Merit, fixtures, achievements, settings, and the like) is stored on your device. Only if you opt in, the anonymous usage data described below is sent to our server.
- Anonymous usage data (only with your permission): To tune game balance and improve quality, usage data in a form that cannot identify you is sent from the app to a server we operate, roughly once a day. See "3. Information Transmitted from Your Device" for details. You choose whether to allow this at first launch and can change it anytime in the app's Settings.
- Purchase information: In-app purchases are processed by Apple Inc. We receive sales reports from Apple in a form that cannot identify individuals, and use them for revenue management and legal compliance (such as the Japanese Payment Services Act). We never receive your credit card details.
- Ad attribution (only with your permission): To measure the cost-effectiveness of ads we place on Apple Ads, we use Apple's "AdServices" to learn only whether the install came through an ad and the campaign number. No advertising identifier (IDFA) is used and no individual is identified. See "5. Ad Attribution (AdServices)".
- Game Center: Some apps' ranking features use Apple's Game Center. Nicknames, scores, and similar data are handled under Apple's privacy policy.
- Inquiries: Email addresses and message contents you send us are used to respond to your inquiry and to handle disclosure requests under applicable law.
3. Information Transmitted from Your Device
Under the external-transmission rules of the Japanese Telecommunications Business Act, we disclose the information the app causes your device to transmit.
| Recipients | (1) A server we operate (on infrastructure of Cloudflare, Inc.) (2) Google LLC (ad delivery "AdMob"; see "4. Advertising") (3) Apple Inc. (ad attribution "AdServices"; see "5. Ad Attribution") |
|---|---|
| Data transmitted |
(1) To our server:
an anonymous identifier generated by the app (random characters, unrelated to anything that
identifies your device or you; can be regenerated in Settings),
app version, device model and OS version,
aggregate game progress (total play time, points earned, fixtures owned, achievements,
rebirth count, time to reach milestones, and the like),
in-app settings (haptics, sound, screen settings),
a purchase summary (whether subscribed; in-app currency balance — no amounts or payment details),
first launch date, number of rewarded ads watched,
and, if the install came through an ad, the campaign number obtained via (3)
(which does not identify you).
(3) To Apple: an attribution token issued by Apple (we cannot decrypt it and it contains nothing that identifies you). |
| Not transmitted | Name, contact details, location, contacts, photos, advertising identifier (IDFA), device-unique identifiers (such as IDFV), and no storage of IP addresses (they are processed transiently in communication but not recorded on our server). |
| Purpose | Game balance tuning, defect discovery, quality improvement, and measuring ad spend effectiveness. |
| How to stop | At the first-launch choice screen, or anytime via "Send anonymous data" in the app's Settings (both (1) and (3) obey this setting; while off, no queries are made to Apple either). |
| Retention | Up to 24 months from receipt, after which data is deleted or converted to statistics. |
4. Advertising (AdMob)
Some apps use Google LLC's ad service "AdMob" solely for rewarded ads that you choose to watch. We never insert ads automatically; every viewing is your choice. Watching an ad is one way to receive certain in-app benefits (sutra recitations, a lotus encore, doubling the harvest while away, and the like) — the same benefits can be received with the in-app currency "Mani Jewels". You choose which to use each time.
- We request non-personalized ads and do not ask for tracking permission (ATT) for behavioral targeting.
- Displaying an ad transmits information from your device to Google (IP address, device and OS information, ad display and interaction data, and the like). For details see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from ads.
We use no analytics tools. If we ever introduce one, we will revise this policy and let you know.
5. Ad Attribution (AdServices)
We may place ads on Apple Ads (App Store search results) to help people find our apps. To measure their cost-effectiveness we use Apple's AdServices to confirm whether an install came through an ad.
- This is Apple's mechanism that does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). It never asks for tracking permission (ATT) and never identifies you as an individual.
- The app sends Apple an attribution token issued by Apple, and only if the install came through an ad do we receive the campaign number. That number is all we receive — no name, no contact details, no device-unique identifiers.
- This query happens only if you consented to anonymous data transmission under section 3, and never while it is turned off. The number is handled and retained the same way as the anonymous usage data.
- See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
6. Feedback (Suggestion Box)
When you send ideas or problem reports from the in-app "Suggestion Box", the following is sent to our server and used solely to respond and investigate:
- The message you wrote and, optionally, a reply-to address (used only to reply)
- Technical context for investigation: app version, device model, OS version, a summary of your progress (lifetime Merit, rebirth count, and the like), and the same anonymous identifier as above. No name, no location, nothing that identifies your device or you.
Submissions are stored on a server we operate (on Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure) and may be forwarded to us via an email delivery service (Resend, Inc.) for new-message notifications. The reply-to field is optional; you can submit without it.
7. Third Parties and Contractors
We do not provide your personal information to third parties except as required by law. We rely on Apple's services for payment and distribution; their handling of information follows Apple's Privacy Policy.
8. Security
We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of the information we handle, and to otherwise manage it safely.
9. Disclosure and Correction Requests
You may request disclosure, correction, or suspension of use of your personal data that we hold. Contact contact@scalehaze.com; after verifying your identity we will respond without delay in accordance with law.
10. Revisions
This policy may be revised to reflect changes in law or in the Service. For material changes, we will announce them on this website or in the app.
